3. The transport
Playing, stopping, recording and looping: the transport, the tempo, the metronome and the loop range.
- Space starts and stops. F9 arms recording, Ctrl+M toggles the metronome, Ctrl+L toggles the loop, Home returns to the start.
- The tempo is in the top bar (drag it, or click and type).
- The loop range is set by dragging in the Timeline's ruler; the loop button turns it on.
- The status at the right of the top bar shows the engine load, or "Sound card closed" when the audio device is not open yet.
