20. Command-line options (the useful ones)
The command-line options worth knowing, including --data-dir, --theme, --export-one-shots and the screenshot switches.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
--data-dir <folder> |
Keep settings, projects and logs in this folder (portable use, testing). |
--theme <id> |
Start with a theme: azure, dark, steel, light, high-contrast, graphite, olive, umber, pine, … |
--lang <code> |
Use a translation if one is installed beside the app. |
--settings-page <page> |
Open Settings on a page (appearance, audio, instrument, midi, export, about). |
--export-one-shots <folder> |
Write the royalty-free one-shot library as files. |
--screenshot <file> |
Save a picture of the window and quit. |
--screenshot-frames <n> + --screenshot-every <ms> |
With --screenshot <folder>: save n numbered pictures (frame-0000.png, ...) instead of one — the frames of an animated picture. Each frame re-renders the window, so a run costs a few seconds per frame. |
There are also many --demo-* switches (used to build the screenshots in this manual and the
project's interface sweep); nebula --help lists them all.
